			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Bank Holiday enthusiast and my mother Kit Graham forwarded a email earlier this week. The email urges people to go <a target="_blank" href="http://www.stgeorgesday.com/voting.asp">this site</a> and vote for St Georges Day to be made into a bank holiday. The site claims that only 500,000 votes are needed for the government to take it seriously, I have no idea if this is true or not but think it’s worth a go.</p>
<p>St Georges day falls on April 23rd and is on a Monday this year. A few weeks ago I wrote about some traditional <a href="http://blog.petegraham.co.uk/2007/02/27/novelty-days/">British activities</a> you could do on St George’s day, here are some more:</p>
<ul>
<li>eat a kebab</li>
<li>burn some food on a bbq</li>
<li>wearing a football shirt and getting in a fight</li>
<li>get sunburnt</li>
</ul>
<p>The above suggestions do not have to be done in this order, why not try mix and matching activities for variation.</p>

<p><strong>FACT:</strong> St Georges Day is named after George Foreman, it was created after he knocked out a Dragon and then proceeded to grill it on one of his lean, mean, grilling machines</p>
