Marmite Guinness
Pete
Earlier in the week I wrote about St Patricks Day and the commercialisation of it by Guinness. This year they are going even further and releasing special edition Guinness Marmite to “celeberate”.

The spread is non-alcoholic and is made using a strain of yeast used to create Guinness. I’m not quite sure how I feel about his as I love a bit of Marmite but am not too keen on the Monochromatic Beverage. I’d imagine the special edition spread is quite tasty, the reason I don’t really like Guinness is I feel it has an almost food like flavour (as opposed to a refreshing larger taste).
If you want some 300,000 jars have gone on sale and it is being stocked by Tesco’s. If you can’t find any in the shops then there’s plenty going on eBay.

This stuff both excites and scares me. I was onsite with a customer a couple of weeks ago and mentioned it, and one of the guys said he really liked the sound of it despite hating both Marmite and Guinness. I can’t see it tasting radically different, to be honest.

Now it is quite similar in taste to the original spread, however being a Man of Science I was curious to find out, could I correctly identify the difference between the spreads in a taste test. [...]
